What is means to be Australian Made

Berali is Australian made. Australian made is special for good reason. 

Not only is it becoming more rare, but it supports the continuation of skill and craftsmanship in our country. Sovereign capability allows communities and careers to thrive. 

Australian textile manufacturing - especially wool processing - used to be one of Australia’s primary industries. However, amongst a global shift to cheaper labor, synthetic materials, and the lack of education and trade pathways, Australian textile manufacturing is really feeling the pinch. In the wise words of a mentor of mine, manufacturing has lost its sex appeal. 

But why? In the age of Ai and rapidly changing technologies - where we can literally hold a computer in our pockets - textile manufacturing stays stagnant. As if it has been avoided by tech bros, and serial entrepreneurs. Perhaps, with the textile workforce being 77% women, it has been labelled ‘’women's business’’

This points to some of the many reasons we chose to manufacture in Australia. 

Berali aims to support local businesses, craftsmanship, and innovation, and we are best positioned to do that with onshore partners.
