Behind the Campaign - Back to Our Roots

Behind the Campaign - Back to Our Roots

For Berali’s first shoot we journeyed back to the place where I started my very first business, and my second, and my third. While Berali’s birthplace is now the big smoke, my heart remains on a 30 acre block in Central West, NSW.

It was here that I sewed my first skirt, sold my first scrunchie, and wrote my first article.

It was - and still is - home.

We began our adventure on Saturday, venturing west from Sydney. We journeyed through the mountains and watched the temperature plummet as we inched further and further away from the hustle.

Arriving at 6pm, greeted by mum, Craig, and Pricilla the dog. We settled into some potato soup and passed out straight after.

Sunday was massive. We woke up to drizzle, and sun trying its very best to poke through the clouds.

We then ventured into the cold. It is a special kind of cold here. Spiky. Cheeky.

Good thing we have Berali Jumpers ;)

Whole heartedly though, I can think of no worse environment for a bikini shoot, so clearly home has had more of an impact on my choices than anticipated.

Thanks to the beautifully talented Zoe Kemp, my gorgeous friend and Berali's go to Photographer - we were able to make good of an incredibly wet and cold situation.

The morning’s highlights:

Come lunch time, we ventured into town to see my beautiful grandma, Lynnie. Lynnie has my entire heart. She was my first design mentor, turned design assistant. She has helped me start, stop, grow. She loves the Berali Jumpers. Clearly a trusted source - she looks incredible:

That evening was just for us.

There is nothing better than a savvy B on the coldest night of your life.

Cheers to the start. Cheers to Berali.

Please check out Zoe Kemp and her work - none of this campaign would be possible without her skills, her talent, and of course her humour.

Thank you as always

G xx
